AFTER nearly six years of entertaining listeners and gaining a huge fan base, host of Adom FM’s mid-morning show, Work and Happiness, Ohemaa Woyeje, has quit. According to sources, the bubbly presenter tendered in her resignation to her bosses on Wednesday, January 30. Ohemaa Woyeje has not been heard on radio since October last year and many of her fans had been asking questions on social media about where she was and why she wasn’t on air. The source told Showbiz certain events at the station had informed Ohemaa Woyeje's decision to leave because she felt unfairly treated. 17-year-old kidnapped girl reunited with family

A 17-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped in Ho on January 21, around Stanbic Bank where she went to pay her school fees has been rescued and reunited with her family. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Anthony Danso, Ho Municipal Police Commander told the GNA that the girl, name withheld, was found by her uncle the next day in Aflao near ECOBANK, where the uncle worked. The Commander said the Police was informed on January 21, 2019, that the girl, a student of Sonrise Christian High School in Ho failed to return home after she was sent to pay her school fees at the Bank around 0900 hours. He said the Police started working with the girl’s family and was informed that someone was chatting on Whatsapp with the girl’s phone and showed pictures of the girl tied to a plastic chair ready for rituals. 25-year-old man chops off his penis after drinking

A drunk man chopped off his penis after drinking and had to be rushed to the hospital. Sadly, his organ could not be reattached immediately as neighbours forgot it back at his home as they were panicking. Neighbours rushed to the rescue of Sam Maina, 25, when they heard chilling screams coming from his home in Kericho, Kenya, in the early hours of the morning. He was found writhing in pain with his penis on the bed. Locals rushed him to hospital for life-saving surgery in Kericho but the operation was delayed because his penis was forgotten on his bed. Korle Bu Teaching Hospital At Risk Of Shutdown in March

Ghana’s foremost hospital, the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, is at risk of being closed down by March 31, 2019. According to the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority (HeFRA), the body mandated to license health institutions in Ghana, Korle Bu operates without a valid license. The Board Chairman of HeFra, Nana Otuo Acheampong, disclosed this to Joy News  during an inspection of some private and public health facilities in Accra. The inspection forms part of a nationwide exercise to halt the operations of unlicensed health institutions for noncompliance. Responding to the accusations of operating without a license, the CEO of Korle Bu, Dr. Daniel Asare, said they have started the process to get one. “Everything is going to be done to get the needed accreditation,” adding that the institution is “almost halfway through the process.” Korle Bu is not the only health facility operating without a license. Nwenle Takia, 52, and elder of the two brothers is said to have stabbed his brother Bignani Takia, 50, on his left armpit, top of his left breast and in his testis while they fought over the cooked goat and dog meat at Piabuni, a village near Gbingbani in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo district of the Northern Region on Monday. Zimbabwe has shut down the internet indefinitely amid an intensifying crackdown on protests against a hike in fuel prices. The country's largest mobile operator - Econet - says it has been ordered to cut services until further notice. Access to Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter has been intermittently blocked since protests broke out on Monday. At least three people have been killed and 600 people have been arrested. The UN has called on the government to halt the "excessive use of force" by security forces including firing live ammunition, and allegations of night-time door-to-door searches and beatings. The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has temporarily shut down the Odawna market for four days to allow for further investigations into the cause of a fire outbreak. The closure, which takes effect from Thursday, January 17, 2019 to Monday 21, is also to ensure that the place is safe for the traders to resume their daily activities. The NADMO, National Fire Service, police, Accra Metropolitan Assembly and other stakeholders would carry out rigorous assessment of the market and come up with lasting solutions. The headquarters of the Dubai Police has debunked media reports that the CEO of embattled gold firm Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah has been arrested in Dubai. Host of Adom FMs Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Captain Smart revealed this on the show. According to him, a source at Dubai Police headquarters revealed that, they had not arrested any Ghanaian national in the last few weeks in relation to a gold scam as it’s been reported in Ghana by several media outlets. “We were cross checking from the Dubai Police whether or yes they have arrested NAM1 and they have denied arresting any Ghanaian national” Captain said. 41-year-old Tracey Abraham, Aasubstitute teacher at Creekside Middle School in Fairfield was arrested on Tuesday after he was caught masturbating in a classroom while students were present. Fairfield police received a complaint on Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. about the alleged incident involving Abraham. According to a statement from Fairfield schools, students reportedly noticed ”suspicious behavior by the substitute that was taking place behind” the teacher’s desk around 10:30am. After the operation Wang was told he was going to have a normal life with just one kidney, but almost eight years on, the 24-year-old is permanently disabled and dependent on dialysis. A Police officer, Sergeant Saviour Senaya, is alleged to have burnt the house of his girlfriend, Veronica Doh, at Adenta in the Greater Accra Region for breaking up with him. According to an eyewitness, Israel Aboagye, the policeman came to the house early Sunday morning to look for the girlfriend with a poly bag in hand but the lady had gone to church with the family. “The policeman went to the back of the house and a few minutes after he left, the house was in flames,” he narrated. Policeman Commits Suicide With AK-47 Rifle

A 44- year-old police sergeant, Emmanuel Amede allegedly shot himself dead at the Nungua Police Barracks in an apparent suicide. Amede was attached to the SWAT Unit of the Accra Regional Police Command and is said to have used an AK 47 rifle to shoot himself in the throat in his room at the barracks at about 2:30am on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Information gathered indicate that before shooting himself, Mr. Amede woke up from sleep and ordered his wife and two children to leave the room else he would kill them. His wife was said to have rushed out with her children to seek for help. Man Accused Of Raping Goat Says He Asked The Animal For Permission

                   Kennedy Kambani, 21, pictured with the goat, that he allegedly has sexual intercourse with A man has been accused of raping a goat in a field - after asking it permission for the vile act. The animal's owner initially suspected Kennedy Kambani was trying to steal the goat. But when he returned with neighbours to nab the 21-year-old they caught him having sex with the creature in Malawi, Africa, he told police. Police Inspector Lubrino Kaitano said: "The owner Mr Pemphero Mwakhulika thought Kambani was stealing it. So he alerted the people. "When they arrived at the scene they were shocked to see him having sexual intercourse with the goat". Kambani was apprehended and taken to a police station and charged with bestiality. He reportedly claimed he had asked the animal's permission first to have sex with it. The goat had been part of a grazing flock on the outskirts of Mchinji. The gender of the goat has not been disclosed.

Seven Police Officers In Trouble After Kidnap Suspect Breaks Cell

  A 28-year-old man suspected of kidnapping has escaped police cells in the Western Region capital, Takoradi, triggering a manhunt. Samuel Udoterg Willison who has a Nigerian accent bolted from the Takoradi Central Police cell last Sunday, December 30, 2019, at about 4:30 pm. “He used an implement to cut the iron rod for the ventilation in the cell and escaped” the Police’s Western Regional Public Relation Officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, said. The fugitive is the suspected leader behind three kidnap cases reported in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis from October to December 2018. The Police have begun investigations into circumstances surrounding the break-out. DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku explained, it has increased vigilance and is also calling on the public to assist in re-arresting the suspect.
