Boy, 13, Found Hanging In Cocoa Farm

 A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has been found dead in a cocoa farm at Awiaso-Akrofrom in the Adansi-Asokwa District of the Ashanti Region in what the police considered to be a suicide. Jeffery Kwadwo Owusu allegedly hanged himself at his grandmother’s cocoa farm behind their residence in the Awiaso-Akrofrom community with the reason yet to be established by law enforcement agents. Fomena District Police Commander, Supt Yaw Obeng Asubonteng, who confirmed the tragic incident, told DAILY GUIDE that Jeffery Owusu was a Class Five pupil at Abusco International School. He said reports indicated that the minor hanged himself on Wednesday around 3:30 pm after he returned from school and his grandmother had prepared food for him. GCB Banker, 10 Others Steal GH¢1.158m Of Customers’ Cash…Two arrested

Two persons, including a GCB Bank staff, who conspired with nine others to steal an amount of GH¢1.158 million from the bank have been put before an Accra Circuit Court. Ferdinand Kofi Amponsah and Issah Alhassan were charged for conspiracy and 23 counts of stealing from GCB between June and September 2016. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were subsequently granted bail in the sum of GH¢400,000.00 with four sureties, one of which is to be justified. As part of the bail conditions, the accused persons are to deposit their passports at the registry of the court and to report to the police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) every Wednesday. A bench warrant has also been issued by the court for the arrest of the nine others who are at large. Air Pollution Killing More Ghanaians

                                          Muntaka Chasant   A social entrepreneur, Mr Muntaka Chasant, who is concerned with the health effects of air pollution in developing cities, has cautioned that air pollution now kills more people in Ghana than the combination  of malaria and AIDS. He has therefore called for urgent measures to address the country’s deteriorating air quality. He said toxic fumes from car exhausts, open burning of garbage and biomass, road dust, the use of inefficient stoves and polluting fuels indoors were causing millions of premature deaths annually, a problem which was being overlooked in Ghana and in many low and middle income countries. Stop Bleaching With Injections – Owusu Bempah Replies Korankye Ankrah

Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has accused Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah of skin bleaching. According to him, the Royalhouse chapel overseer resorts to all kinds of skin whitening injections and pills that has given him a lighter skin tone. Rev Bempah emphasized that Apostle Ankrah had a dark skin when they both lived in Kumasi until he later moved to Accra to establish his ministry. “Sam Korankye Ankrah injects himself with skin whitening products in order to be fair. Baker Remanded For Alleged Anal Sex

 A 34-year old baker, who allegedly had anal sex with a 13 year old girl at Madina, has been remanded into Police custody by an Accra Circuit Court. Mike Danso, charged with defilement, has pleaded not guilty. Danso is expected to reappear before the court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku on September 24. Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo said the complainant is a Latex Foam agent at Madina and a neighbour to the victim’s grandmother. ASP Boafo said the victim resides with her grandmother, who is a baker at Madina. According to prosecution, the accused person works with the victim’s grandmother and usually every morning at about 0400 hours, Danso wakes up the children in the house to start their daily chores. Kintampo Wee Toffee Ladies Arrested

 The Kintampo Divisional Police Command in the Brong Ahafo Region has arrested two women for allegedly possessing and dealing in substances suspected to be Indian Hemp. The suspects one Jennifer, 18 and Ruth Ali, 19, admitted to offence upon interrogation by the police. “Customers in the area and beyond come to purchase our toffees since they make them ‘high.’ The customers told us that the toffees help them go about their day to day activities, the suspects told the police. The suspects indicated that students in second cycle institutions mostly purchase the products to help them to study at night. Police told DAILY GUIDE that Jenifer and Ruth admitted that they were aware of the consequences of their action. They have since been detained at the Kintampo Police Station to assist in police investigations. JHS Boy Commits Suicide Over SHS Placement

  A 16-year-old Junior High School (JHS) leaver who thought he would not be admitted by any Senior High School (SHS) in the country due to his performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) has reportedly committed suicide. The unfortunate incident happened at Tarkwa in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region. The deceased, Daniel Mensah, allegedly committed suicide by hanging after obtaining aggregate 24 in the BECE. The deceased left a note for his mother before he took the action. The note read “Mom, do not think about me anymore. I will kill myself and leave this earth and I can’t stay anymore because I did not get school. I know I did not do well, but somebody had 47 and got a school. Why me?” According to the Tarkwa District Police Commander, Supt.
