Image
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has served notice it will be taxing street beggars as part of moves to widen the tax net. The exercise will also target individuals, especially women selling Dubai Wax prints and other imports through door-to-door and neighboring nationals trading on bicycles in the Northern region. The Principal Revenue Chief at the Small Tax Payer Office of the GRA in the Northern region Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed told journalists that some individuals occupying the streets are now harvesting a lot of daily earnings that fall within the tax threshold. “Those who carry things on their heads to sell (hawkers) be it cloth or consumables, we will tax them, how much more people who earn daily,” the Revenue Officer said. “GRA taxes foreigners in town and by law the beggars fall within the taxable threshold,” Alhaji Mohammed stressed, adding that those into alms taking as a form of business and a “hobby” should be ready to pay tax on their earnings. A BIRTH TODAY A birth today. It all love! In times like this, The miners seek over treasures than life, But comes out with nothing than half, The little gold on the spring balance, May weigh more legal tender in hands, Where thy worth is not measurable in this heart, In your thoughts you keeps fumbling, A true worth of the love u can't perceive in my eyes, But bounds in thy dreams only when you look straight in this heart, For what the miners keeps looking for, Very bountiful you find in this heart as harvest, Feel thy heart with joy first, Place thy head on my left breast, In joy, thy birthday song is been played, Where could u've been if not here. The clouds may fall to darkness, As our sight to our love ones in the ways of the bat, Dark and blind in thy thoughts, But the waves of thy love shows us the path, A birthday today is not only a dream to thy happiness, But a heart joy offering poured upon thy years, Where a plate of good health we want

There Is No Unity And Love In The Ghana Movie Industry- Prince David Osei

Image
“There is no unity, there is no love. When you are progressing in the industry, people try to pull you down,” Prince David Osei. Speaking to Abeiku Santana on UTV’s ATUU show, the US-based Ghanaian actor said some of the attitudes by his colleagues hinder the progress of the industry. “Sometimes those saying things about you have not spent even two minutes with you before, just because he/she knows you in the industry, they say all sought of things to tarnish your image and reputation” he stated. Prince David Osei further stated that unlike the Ghana movie industry, there is so much love and unity within the Nollywood actors and actress. “Even if someone has a busy schedule and there is a role for him or her to play in a production, he or she can pass the role to a different person but it is not the same in Ghana. MUSE The sound of a muse My thought absorbs are truly in nudes, Perceived the goddess generations of the semens of Zeus, Those imaginative smiles like a memory of the nine muses, The protection of her heart, the death of Achilles, Overcoming the proud death of Romeo-Juliet, Foolish in the eyes of the man without love belt, Muse!! Your love art drawn on this inspiring smiles, Love gain in pain stand the same, In calls high on the mountain she came, Palms open thy heart she gave thy love on this day, Forgone the "Yeats" words on never give all the heart for love, But the well understanding of the pragma stands above, A calming relationship of the melting magma, She? A royal storm over this heart mountain, When her love rains falls on the mountain into the fountain, The queen is clean and her love is keen, Finely sharpened and fiercely piercing the heart of the king, Still staring into the fountain glass, A bulky eyes dreaming for the love to last, Muse

SINKING SHIP The Voice I heard, cold in sadness, The tap flowing from her displeased eyes, Where thy heart soaked with the piercing pins of pains, Tattered in the soaking mouth of mud, Dirty now in a damp squib, The heart shape you kept drawing, now dead as dodo, Where is the picture we took? Out of the options I stood in the dung, The dreams are faded and hard to follow, Whiles she kept singing the song of the sinking ship, Her heart is crippled, as you saw in crochets, The heart lying on the floor down to earth, Drunk in love with morning palm wine brewed, From a stage drama she took to be mocked, Whiles the murmuring of her teasing pain got her knocked, Thou cast out her drying pain on the harmattan, Hunting dust in her sinking ship, For he left her to slip to skip the traveling ship, A journey she dreamt of living with the Titanic ship, The tears on the eyes of the ship, Whiles it slips out of the grips of the sea with a swallowing bow, Thy heart is empty
