Police place ¢5K bounty on the head of man who fired AK 47 unlawfully at A&C Mall

 The Police have placed a ¢5,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest of a man who was seen in a viral video firing a gun in public.

In the video, the man was seen firing an AK 47 several times into the air at A&C Mall, East Legon on December 31, 2021, purportedly to welcome the New Year.

In a statement, the Police said the action by the man is against Section 209 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29) which barres a person from discharging a firearm in public without lawful and necessary occasion.

The Police have, therefore, called on persons with information on the man to report to them for his arrest and further prosecution.

The Police have intercepted a video in which a young man is seen firing several shots of a firearm suspected to be AK 47 at A&C Mall, East Legon, last night, December 31, 2021, purportedly to welcome the new year.

The Police have taken a serious stance against the actions of the young man since it is a crime to discharge a firearm in public without lawful and necessary occasion under Section 209 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).

The Police Administration after reviewing the video footage has placed an amount of ¢5,000 as a bounty for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest to face prosecution.

17-year-old kidnapped girl reunited with family

A 17-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped in Ho on January 21, around Stanbic Bank where she went to pay her school fees has been rescued and reunited with her family. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Anthony Danso, Ho Municipal Police Commander told the GNA that the girl, name withheld, was found by her uncle the next day in Aflao near ECOBANK, where the uncle worked. The Commander said the Police was informed on January 21, 2019, that the girl, a student of Sonrise Christian High School in Ho failed to return home after she was sent to pay her school fees at the Bank around 0900 hours.
