I Respect Time – Shatta Wale On Why Stonebowy, Samini Couldn’t Perform At “Reign” Launch

Self aclaimed dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has explained that his reason for not allowing Samini and Stonebowy to perform at his ‘Reign’ album launch was due to their failure to inform him of their intention prior to the event.

According to the "Kakai" hit-maker, although he has a cordial relationship with the two, it was inappropriate for them to spring a surprise on him in that manner.

He said: "Samini is my friend and if i want to go to his show, i will call him, a week or two weeks before but you can't move into my show and expect that..."

At the launch of the "Reign" album about a fortnight ago, Samini tweeted that he and Stonebowy tried to spring a surprise performance at Shatta Wale's event but they were refused the gesture after waiting for about an hour.

Shatta Wale in a response apologised to the two, saying that he was not aware that they were at the concert.

However, in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM, Shatta Wale, citing the actions of Samini and Stonebowy on that night, expressed concern over the disregard for time by some artiste in the industry.

He said: "I went to Simini's show, I call him like two weeks my team called his team to arrange everything, the same to Stonebowy, so I wonder how you wanna come to my show, you even won't send me a text message, i don't see that as a surprise because I am a very serious person."

He noted, however, that he reserved slots for artistes who wished to perform at the progamme but only a few turned up.
