CONFIRMED. . .Osafo Maafo Contracts COVID-19

Esnewsgh.blogspot.com can confirm that the Senior Minister, Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo has  contracted COVID-19.

The senior Minister, according to reliable sources, tested positive for COVID-19 after samples given for laboratory analysis indicated so.

Information Minister, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who confirmed this at the regular press briefing in Accra on Tuesday morning, added that the disclosure was with the tacit permission of Mr Osafo Maafo.

According to him, the decision to also publicize the Senior Minister's health status was in line with government's transparency.

He said: "In a separate development that has come to us this morning, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo has been informed that his sample given for test has been returned positive. He will therefore as of today commence treatment for COVID-19 from home...".

Police probe viral video of alleged misconduct of its officer

 The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into an alleged incident at the West Hills Mall that led to the death of a 32-year-old man, Shadrach Arloo. In a press release dated January 31, 2023, the Police administration said its officials had contacted a relative of the deceased, Perpetual Didier, who first made the allegation in a viral audio. “The attention of the Police Service has been drawn to a viral video in which a female who identifies herself as Perpetual Didier alleges that the action of a Police Officer has caused the death of her brother. “The Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has commenced investigation into the allegation and has contacted Madam Perpetual Didier to assist the investigation,” Assist. State will assist in Christian Atsu's funeral - President Akufo-Addo

  President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has announced that the state will assist the family of the late Ghanaian football international, Christian Atsu, to give the soccer star a befitting funeral.
