Groom And 13 Members Of His Family Die In Car Crash On Their Way To Wedding

Fourteen members of the same family were killed today in a car crash in central Vietnam on their way to a wedding party.

The groom was also in the vehicle that crashed and he died instantly when their van hit a container truck, police said.

The groom and his family members were heading to the bride’s family home in a neighbouring province when they were involved in an accident in Quang Nam. Their 16-seater van collided with a container truck at about 2.30am, killing 13 people instantly. Another died later in hospital.

Confirming the incident, a policeman said: "All victims’ bodies were brought back to their home for burial. We are treating some of the injured in a local hospital."

Local authorities said Monday they were investigating the cause of the deadly crash.

Police probe viral video of alleged misconduct of its officer

 The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into an alleged incident at the West Hills Mall that led to the death of a 32-year-old man, Shadrach Arloo. In a press release dated January 31, 2023, the Police administration said its officials had contacted a relative of the deceased, Perpetual Didier, who first made the allegation in a viral audio. “The attention of the Police Service has been drawn to a viral video in which a female who identifies herself as Perpetual Didier alleges that the action of a Police Officer has caused the death of her brother. “The Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) has commenced investigation into the allegation and has contacted Madam Perpetual Didier to assist the investigation,” Assist.   President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has announced that the state will assist the family of the late Ghanaian football international, Christian Atsu, to give the soccer star a befitting funeral.
